A meeting between Deputy Chairperson of the BelCCI Elena Malinovskaya and Trade Counselor of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Moscow Dr. Shah Mohammad Habibul Hasan took place at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the event, issues of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and the People's Republic of Bangladesh were discussed.

- Belarus and Bangladesh have significant potential for deepening economic cooperation. We attach great importance to our close cooperation and see great opportunities in expanding trade and developing joint projects in such areas as agriculture, mechanical engineering, textile industry, pharmaceuticals, information technology, - Elena Malinovskaya emphasized.

The main partner of the BelCCI in Bangladesh is the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Interaction has been carried out since 2006: then a cooperation agreement was signed. In November 2012, during the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus to Bangladesh, the BelCCI, in cooperation with the FCCIB, held a business forum, on the sidelines of which a memorandum on the establishment of the Belarus-Bangladesh Business Council was signed.

In addition, interaction is currently underway with the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In 2013, a representative of the BelCCI was appointed in Bangladesh, and a meeting of the Business Council was held during the visit of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the Republic of Belarus.

Subsequently, various joint events were held almost annually - both in Belarus and Bangladesh, during which issues of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries, prospects for organizing interaction through chambers of commerce and industry, organizing the exchange of business visits, holding joint events, participation of enterprises and organizations in exhibitions and fairs in Belarus and Bangladesh, as well as new business opportunities were discussed. A number of signed documents confirm close interaction. “We highly value the dynamic development of the Bangladeshi economy and are interested in strengthening cooperation in key sectors,” Elena Malinovskaya summed up.
