X International economic forum and republican universal exhibition-fair "Orshanskiye traditsii"

The X International Economic Forum and the republican universal exhibition-fair "Orshanskiye Traditsii" took place in Orsha. The events were organized by the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Orsha District Executive Committee.

The events were organized to strengthen economic and business ties of the Orsha district of the Vitebsk region, deepen interregional cooperation, exchange experience and proposals with partner regions to achieve sustainable development by consolidating the efforts of business, government, presentation of the industrial potential of the district, investment and innovation projects, search for business partners, discussions and negotiations.

On April 27, on the first day of the International Economic Forum in Orsha, the fair " Orshanskiye Traditsii" was opened, presenting the industrial potential of the Orsha district, manufactured products, offers for cooperation. Business representatives from Smolensk and Tver took part in the fair along with Belarusian exhibitors. Educational institutions of the Orsha district organized a job fair.

A plenary session was held on international cooperation, interaction of partner cities in the face of modern challenges, at the end of which Chairman of the Tver City Duma Evgeny Pichuev and Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Igor Isachenko signed an agreement on the establishment of twinning relations between the city of Tver and the Orsha district. The event was attended by the heads of the administrations of the cities of Smolensk and Tver, Vyazemsky and Gagarin districts of the Smolensk region, Krasnogvardeysky district of St. Petersburg, Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Then the work of the profile breakout sessions continued.

On April 28, business events dedicated to cooperation with the People's Republic of China in the economy and humanitarian sphere were held within the framework of the Forum

The main topic of the plenary session was the experience and prospects of cooperation with China. They noted the strengthening of trade and economic ties between Orsha district and Qingdao (China) through the implementation of joint business projects, expressed hope for further expansion of the geography of cooperation. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the free economic zone "Vitebsk" and the pilot zone of regional trade and economic cooperation "China-SCO", an agreement on cooperation in the field of education was signed between educational institutions of Qingdao and Orsha.

On April 29, as part of the third day of the International Economic Forum in Orsha, an international webinar was held with the participation of Russian speakers on the topic "Opportunities and challenges for the development of regional entrepreneurship support infrastructure", a workshop "Introduction of innovative technologies in improving the efficiency of agricultural enterprises", in which issues of supporting small businesses in the regions of Russia and Belarus, improving the efficiency of the agricultural sector of the economy, the introduction of innovations in agriculture.

The International Economic Forum concluded with a closing ceremony and will continue its work next year.

This event, held annually in Orsha for 10 years, has traditionally been an authoritative international platform for regional communication, discussion of development prospects, opportunities for cooperation and makes a significant contribution to the diplomacy of regional twinning.
